This year’s NADA Convention and Expo is a special one for the Birds, since it’s taking place in our founders’ original stomping grounds: San Francisco, CA. From the skyline to the Golden Gate Bridge and the houses lining Lombard Street, the city holds a special place in our hearts – so we decided to do something extra this year to make the event as special for our customers as it is for us.
We’re proud to introduce our first ever commemorative show poster, designed by Chris Williams (Plastic Flame Press). The hand-drawn design is inspired by landmarks in San Francisco and pays homage to the Hearts in SF heart statues that are installed throughout the city as part of an annual fundraising initiative for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. These statues, along with our ties to the city were the inspiration for our “3 Birds <3…” theme for NADA 2015.
These 300 limited edition art pieces are silkscreen printed based on a hand-drawn design, and each one is hand-numbered and signed. We’ll be giving them out as exclusive gifts for our clients at this year’s NADA convention and Expo, January 23-25, 2015 and during giveaways leading up to the event. We hope they’ll serve as unique mementos of the event proudly hung in the offices and homes of our clients as reminders of their time in San Francisco. If you’re headed to the event, stop by NADA booth 3805N for yours!
3 Birds first heard about Durham, NC designer and screen printer Chris Williams (Plastic Flame Press), when our creative team started collecting concert posters he designed that they found posted along Franklin Street in Chapel Hill near our home office. Chris then participated in one of our local artist exhibitions we hold in our lobby gallery during the Chapel Hill/Carrboro 2nd Friday Art Walk. We were drawn to his approachable style and subtle color palette, and we knew he’d be the perfect designer for our show poster.
