To say new VP of Analytics & Insight Doug Van Sach is “driven by data" is a bit of an understatement. The Ohio native has been using data to guide strategic decisions and provide industry-leading reporting and analytics for 20 years (side note: it greatly pained Doug to provide that figure).
Relying on data to gain a greater understanding of consumer behavior has always been a primary component of Doug’s long and impressive career.
From establishing the insight and analysis group, which managed CRM strategies, customer research, and loyalty program reporting, for Dicks’ Sporting Goods, to working with Fortune 1000 clients across various industries at Ernst & Young, Doug’s extensive work generating industry insights about sales speaks for itself.
Prior to joining 3 Birds, Doug spent seven years at DMEautomotive, where he was instrumental in creating the strategy and analytics department and worked with leading OEMs, dealer groups, and aftermarket groups, including Toyota, AutoNation, Berkshire Hathaway Automotive, Goodyear, and Jiffy Lube.
Of course, when he does manage to escape the daily demands of data crunching, Doug is an avid runner, kayaker and enjoys playing golf, traveling and cooking. He’s also quite the thrill-seeker, having run with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain – where he insists “he did not get gored” – and cage-diving in South Africa with great white sharks!
Naturally, we’ve taken to calling him by his new middle name—“Danger.”
Needless to say Doug’s addition to the 3 Birds team is already generating a lot of buzz around The Nest, and we are extremely excited to welcome him to the team.
